Friday Music: Courtney Barnett covers Patti Smith

BEAUTIFUL SONGS NEVER DIE.
Patti Smith´ Album "Horses" got to the age of 40 years. (Another "time-flies" example.) For this birthday reason the Australian singer Courtney Barnett covered Smith´ song "Redondo Beach" (as NME reports). And she did that in a very expressive, touching way. Here is the video, taped in Melbourne.

Monday Music: The Notwist - Pick Up The Phone

(Picture: Route 101, California USA)

The Notwist - Pick Up The Phone
Without a twist, boring and lame?? Even if their name might imply that, that is all that The Notwist are not. They are more of a constant enrichment to the German Indie Music scene. Over decades until 2014 where they released their current album "Close To The Glass". The following song though is from the "Neon Golden" Album (2002).

Favourite Tuesday: Nails, Candles & 2 Songs

It is Tuesday and I should be studying (multivariate statistics, is there a better thing in life?). The answer is yes. There are plenty of better things. All of the sudden, this blogpost seems to be the most important thing in the whole world! I have to tell you, random reader, I have painted my nails 5 minutes ago. They are white with a sparkly green top coat. This is how they look:

from left: Nail Polish ("T-Shirt") from American Apparel (18.00 Fr.) / Glitter Nail Polish ("party in a bottle") from essence (ca. 3.90 Fr.) / Daisy Flower Hairband (Primark, a gift)

Maybe: the uncertainty of glitter reflects the chaos of the mind. Maybe not.

from left: Candle ("time") / Candle ("calm") both from H&M Home

"time is endlessly continuous, make it count. don´t count it." - don´t quite get it, but it sounds nice.

Oh, and here are two songs I like (and almost forgot about):

You shall all be greeted. x

Monday Music: Future Islands - Where I Found You

(Picture: Monterrico, Guatemala - March 2014)

Future Islands - Where I Found You
Samuel T. Herring is named almost after a fish. Yet he got lucky: He is the smashing voice behind the stunning Future Islands. This song is from their Album "On The Water" (2011).
